Our oldest child is our mini-schnauzer Millie. She’s been through a LOT with us. Pre-kids, she filled a void in our lives we didn’t know existed. She looked after me for 3 months while my wife cared for her mother (who was battling cancer) in Australia . Then she had no choice in making MAJOR adjustments as we welcomed 2 baby boys into our lives – that nearly required puppy Prozac for her twice over… she was already a neurotic dog!

After more medical bills than our 2 boys put together and some months of very weird behavior, she’s been diagnosed with SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome), and will be completely blind in a few weeks at the age of 6. She’s running into walls and stressing out and it’s horrible to watch. She’s also trying to navigate the craziness of our household. It is amazing though, to watch her develop her other senses! She is seeing more without her sight than I often see with 20/20 vision… especially in my faith journey with God. More…

Life At Work In You

‘Daddy, I’m sorry for what happened’!

These are OMINOUS words to wake up to! Especially coming from a 4 yr old… ‘What happened’ I replied sleepily but a little stricken. Well apparently my 4 and 2 yr old architects were building the tower of Babel in our basement that became the leaning tower of Pisa that leant a little too far and took our Huge lamp with it. The result: broken glass all over the floor!..’But don’t tell Mommy’ he finished. Well she was right there next to me.

He wanted deliverance from her wrath… our wrath! More…

Church: A Restaurant for Sheep…

Every single person on this planet has one. They want to share it; they also want to leave it behind. Many might think theirs is insignificant, but it’s not, because it is universal, and every single part of it is something that will touch someone else on this planet. Given the right setting, the right time, and sufficient interest, every single person will tell it. Every single person has one; every single person has many. The volume is only limited by time. You can get it in 3 minutes, or you can be up all night with it, and only scratch the surface. You can spend a lifetime telling it, for that matter, because we all are, in fact, spending a lifetime living it.

What is it? It’s your story

Amazing Revelations

One of the most amazing revelations of God comes to us when we learn that it is in the everyday things of life that we realize the magnificent deity of Jesus Christ

– Oswald Chambers

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” – C.S Lewis

I don’t want to settle for a half-hearted relationship with Christ – I want it ALL! The holiday at the sea! To run full speed into his arms everyday…

This quote inspired as I prepared to lead in worship at LifeBridge this weekend.
